Income generating activities

Skill Training

Effective skills training programs are essential to the development of Africa. The So Foundation with the help of sponsors and volunteers would like to establish a three-month training courses in construction, hospitality, computer literacy and tailoring across Burkina Faso. The Construction program will teach skills such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical knowledge, brick-laying, tiling, plastering and emerging contractor training. Students will be selected through local authorities and include men and women of various ages. They arrive unemployed and the willingness to learn, and leave with basic levels in all skills.

After the training we will do what we can to help them find a job. In addition to providing valuable income, these jobs will strengthen the connections between us and the community.

Agriculture Projects

The So Foundation plan to implement agricultural projects such as provision of water and assistance with vegetable gardens. This will  reduce malnutrition, encourage entrepreneurial farming and help produce extra income.

The So Foundation will work with the government to start a food safety certification because safer food equals better help. Women and young agripreneurs will be trained to produce and trade higher quality and hygienic food products for domestic and regional markets, including adopting food safety and standardization certification practices.

Crafts Markets

The So Foundation plan to assist the local communities in selling their crafts on our platform and also find places abroad where they can sell them. This project will help boost their businesses and bring awareness to what’s happening in their respective countries.
